The Friends of Dadeville in concert with the Dadeville Area Chamber of Commerce are co-sponsoring the 5th Annual “Spirit of a Hometown Christmas” Parade scheduled for December 16, 2018, in downtown Dadeville. This annual event features a wide variety of floats and parade participants, arts and crafts booths, a children’s venue, food booths and more importantly, Santa Claus. It is one of our most important City events designed to bring together all facets of our diverse community to work together to inspire the nostalgia of hometown traditions. The Hometown Christmas Parade has been fulfilling that dream for the past 4 years.
The idea for a Christmas Parade came about 5 years ago during a discussion about reviving dormant city-wide Christmas activities. That discussion eventually turned towards the idea of a parade. Not just any parade, but one that eclipsed anything Dadeville has ever experienced. That spark ignited the fire. Shortly thereafter, the Christmas Parade became a reality. The first parade 4 years ago was a huge success and has continued to grow. The Friends of Dadeville eventually partnered with the Dadeville Area Chamber of Commerce to help manage the complex logistics associated with the Parade as it grew in popularity. That partnership has paid huge dividends for both the community and our schools. For the community, we are able to experience and even participate in a real hometown Christmas Parade and for our schools, they receive all profits garnered from booth sales and donations.
If you would like to participate in the parade please contact the Chamber at 256-825-4019 or chamber@dadeville.com
